passage of a revised and new Republic Act 9484 known as "The Philippine Dental Act of 2007". This appointment underscored Dr.

The seven-man Legislation Committee,
led by Dr. Diampo J. Lim ( Former DEAN, UE College of Dentistry & Past President of the Philippine Dental Association), comprised individuals with proven leadership
capabilities, including Dr. Aurelio B. Ramos, Jr. (Former DEAN, UP College of Dentistry & Past CHAIRMAN of the Board of Dentistry) , Dr. Victor R.Valdez ( Past Speaker, PDA House of Delegates), Dr. Primo
E. Gonzales (Former Chairman, Board of Dentistry & PDA Past President), Dr. Antonio A. Baldemor (Past CHAIRMAN, Board of Dentistry), and Dr. Hermogenes Villareal ( PDA Past President) alongside Dr.
Norman R. Songco himself.
The committee’s responsibilities
included conducting thorough reviews of proposed amendments, consulting with
stakeholders, and formulating recommendations for updating the existing Dental
Act to align with contemporary standards and best practices in dentistry. Dr.
