This article is a compilation of all the personal interviews which the author (my uncle) started in 1949 with his uncle, Dr. Tomas Layug Yuzon, the FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE PAMPANGA DENTAL ASSOCIATION (1931 to 1934).
It was initially published in October 25, 1964 for the souvenir program of the 33rd Annual Meeting and Scientific Session of the Pampanga Dental Society (which I posted in the bottom after the updated 2003 version) during the term of the author as President of the Pampanga Dental Society (1962 to 1964). I was bemused to note that it has been copied and rewritten without permission several times thereafter (i.e. from the 70's to date) by many "Copy Cats" insensitive to the risk of infringing someone's copyright- unmindful of the exactness of the details (like spelling of names, sequence of events, etc.). It's infuriating to think that for many years, it was inaccurately altered significantly and thus, unreferenced- they don't want to give credit to the original author to hide the fact that their article was only copied from someone else's work. Because they are not historians like the Original author, without knowing what they're doing, they made it different, badly transformed, and messed up.
The Author himself made the necessary corrections in year 2003 while he was still alive (He died in 2011) and asked me (together with then Pampanga Chapter President, Dr. Emerito R. Garcia) to publish it in the Special souvenir magazine of the joint celebration of the 72nd Anniversary of the PDA, Pampanga Chapter and the 100 Years of Philippine Dentistry in order to perpetuate not only for today but for all time to come for the sake of our history and younger generation of dentists.
This is the updated 2003 version which is on page 36 and 37 of said souvenir magazine...
