Early Life and Education
Domingo Baroy Calma was born on December 20, 1894, in Guagua, Pampanga, Philippines. He was the son of Martin Calma and Rosalia Baroy, who instilled in him the values of education and community service from an early age. Domingo’s foundational education began at Guagua Elementary School, where he studied from 1912 to 1915. His early academic achievements laid the groundwork for his future endeavors.
After completing elementary school, Domingo continued his education at the Guagua National Institute, graduating in 1926. This institution played a significant role in shaping his educational journey, providing him with a solid foundation that would support his later pursuits.
Pursuit of Dentistry
Following his graduation from the Guagua National Institute, Domingo decided to further his education by pursuing a career in Dentistry. He enrolled at the Philippine Dental College, where he studied from 1926 to 1929. His dedication and hard work culminated in earning his degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. This achievement marked a significant milestone in his professional life, allowing him to serve his community as a dental surgeon.
Professional Career
Before embarking on his dental career, Domingo worked as a teacher in Guagua from 1916 to 1926. This experience not only honed his skills in communication and leadership but also deepened his commitment to education and community development.

On October 10, 1920, Domingo married Rosario Layug, with whom he had ten children (Betty, Amado, Jose, Lolita, Rosita, Aurea, Conchita, Natividad, Norma and Eufrosina). The support of Rosario played an integral role in both his personal life and professional endeavors.
